Arts & Crafts

When it comes to arts & crafts, there is no other place to be.  Gatlinburg's Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, a conglomerate of more than 100 artists and craftsmen spread around an 8-mile loop of the town, is the country's largest collection of independent arts.



This is what Gatlinburg is all about... attractions.  Situated at the gate of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - the most visited in the United States - Gatlinburg has that to offer.  A cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway can be the hub so many things to do. Without a doubt, you gotta hike the Park. Visit downtown.  Check out the aquarium, space needle, Cooter's Place, and several Ripley's venues. Or, shop the Village. Buy old-fashioned salt-water taffy, eat Southern cuisine, and go tubing. Perhaps you're in town for an event at the convention center. Spend an evening at the Dixie Stampede or other dinner show. Get married. Go to the waterpark. Ride a zip line. Visit the arts and crafts district. Gatlinburg is a small mecca for distilled spirits and moonshine, as well as wineries. But, it's lacking in the beer scene. The only craft brewery in Gatlinburg is the Smoky Mountain Brewery. It's located on the main strip (Parkway). Here is your guide to the beer, wine, and moonshine scene.








Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

Voted by as America's top aquarium, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is not something you see every day... especially in the lower Appalachian Mountains! Imagine viewing the world's most spectacular shark habitat from "under the sea" in the longest underwater viewing glass tunnel in the world. You sleep, but do they? After a fun-filled night, drift off to sleep under the sea.

Gatlinburg Sky Lift

Experience the best view in Gatlinburg by taking the 1,800 ft. Gatlinburg Sky Lift. While riding the lift you will get to see the breathtaking scenery of the Great Smoky Mountain Park. But if you want a view that will really make your eyes widen then ride the lift at night to see the night lights of Gatlinburg and the effects that they have on the landscape.

Gatlinburg Space Needle and Family Fun Center

The Gatlinburg Space Needle is a 400 ft. tower that provides a full view of Gatlinburg, the Smoky Mountains, and the lush green forests. The tower is steel reinforced and has two elevators that can approximately hold 20 people. At the top of the tower there are binoculars for you to use or you could just use your own eyes. The Space needle has it's own theatre at the bottom and is always having shows and performances.

Ripley's Haunted Adventure

The number one haunted house in Gatlinburg, Ripley's Haunted Adventure is great if you want a good scare, some fun, and quality time spent with family and friends. The millions that they spent making this place and getting the actors ensures that there will be no disappointment.

Ripley's Marvelous Mirror Maze

The Marvelous  Mirror Maze is dubbed the biggest mirror maze in the world. This confusing but amusing maze is fun for the whole family. The spectacular light show inside adds beauty and makes the maze more challenging one. While inside you might meet other families trying to beat the maze as well. This creates an opportunity to make friends and/or partners.

Alum Cave Trail, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN

The steepest and shortest trail that goes up to Mount Le Conte: the Alum Cave Trail. It is considered the best trail because of it's short length and beauty. The trail has many scenic and natural landmarks such as: Cliff Tops, Dolly Parton Peaks, Gracie's Pulpit, Little Duck Hawk Ridge, Inspiration Point, Eye of the Needle, and Arch Rock. There is no better place to hike then in the Great Smokies and the Alum Cave Trail really proves that hands down. This trail has everything a hiker could ask for.

Mount LeConte, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN

Mount LeConte is a staggering 6,593 ft. mountain in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is the 3rd highest peak in the park and the highest in Tennessee. The mountain has 5 trails that lead up to it: the Alum Cave Trail, Trillium Gap Trail, Bullhead Trail, Rainbow Falls Trail, and The Boulevard Trail. This mountain also hosts the LeConte Lodge. The lodge is the highest lodge is the Eastern United States. The mountain is known for all of it's natural wonders and beauties that surround it. So come up to stay, hike, or just to enjoy the marvelous view.

Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum

The only one of it's kind in the world: the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum in Gatlinburg, TN. This museum is home to over 20,000 salt and pepper shakers. There are so many unique designs of these shakers which makes every single one of them unique. There is shakers even from the 1910's all the way up to the present. The importance of this is that you can see how the shakers have changed over the years and how the designs have been altered. In addition, this can show the thought process of the 1910's is compared to the people of today.

Hollywood Star Cars Museum

The Star Cars Museum is a museum of famous cars. The cars vary from the actual Batmobile from the old TV series all the way to the Corvette that Vin Diesel drove in the Fast Five movie. This museum added all of the themes that deal with the cars. For example, the Batmobile is surrounded by the classic music and pictures and a screen that plays favorite clips of the series. This museum is home to over 40 famous original vehicles from the Hollywood movies showcase and for fans of these it is something to really get excited about.

Ripley's Guinness World Records Museum

Ripley's Guinness World Records Museum hosts all of the crazy records from food to sports and much more. The museum is open for all ages to come and enjoy the wacky or gross records in history. There is some famous record achievements such as Michael Jordan and The Beatles tributes and many more. In addition to all of the records there are interactive games and movies that explain each exhibit. This provides a better learning environment and a more interesting visit for you.

Fort Fun

One of the most fun places in Gatlinburg, TN: the Fort Fun amusement park. This park has many fun activities such as: Golf & Games, Laser Tag, Black Light Golf, Laser Maze, Motion Ride Theatre, 3-D Theatre, Boogie Bodies, Bumper Cars, Gem Mining, and a Video Arcade. All of these activities can be time well spent with family and friend no matter the age! With most of the activities being indoors you get the guarantee that you will have fun regardless of weather issues. This park is a great opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Hillbilly Golf

If you want a exciting adventure with friends and family then look no further. Hillbilly Golf is a secluded mini golf course in the mountains and is one of the strangest around. You start off by riding a lift to the top of the mountain. You are surrounded by a marvelous view of the city and the mountains. Then you begin on of the two 18 hole courses. These courses are quite difficult and will create excitement. The decor brings out the real backwoods feel to the course. It is truly an experience that the young ones won't forget.

Earthquake the Ride

Earthquake the Ride is a live action train that makes you feel like you are in an earthquake. This subway train is fully equipped and fully designed with all of the state-of-the-art technology. From the sounds to the intense earthquake motion this is a real adventure of a lifetime. You will not be disappointed.

Fun Buggies

There is a better way to see Gatlinburg, TN and it is called the Fun Buggie Automobile. The Fun Buggie is a pollution free, electric, street legal, and a stylish way to go sightseeing. Rent the Fun Buggie for as long as you want. It can go 60 miles without having to get another charge! The design of the Fun Buggies are so that you can see all around you. This is not only good for sight seeing but also is a safer way to drive. So drive in style!


Cooters is a center that has mini golf, go-carts and a museum built in. Inside there is an original 1969 Orange Dodge Charger (General Lee). It is open 7 days a week and there are regular appearances by Ben "Cooter" Jones and others. It's museum is filled with antiques from Cooter and there is a gift shop right next to it. This center is fun for everyone and especially Cooter Fans.
