At more than 300 feet high the Space Needle offers spectacular views of Gatlinburg. But, perhaps the most relaxing way to see the town from above is via the Skylift. It is billed as Gatlinburg's #1 scenic overlook.
This cable-driven chair lift takes you from downtown Gatlinburg 1,800 feet up to the crest of Crockett Mountain. You'll feel the air become cooler as you climb through the forest in your two-seat chair.
Views are pretty awesome, especially at night. And, you'll love coming down just as much as going up!
There is a snack bar and gift shop at top, where you can enjoy frozen drinks, snacks, ice cream, etc.
An overlook platform allows for some amazing views. Take all the pictures you want or use the on-site binoculars (coin operated).
The brass tacks of this attraction is it's not a thrill ride. It's also not limited to age or size. The Gatlinburg Skylift is a long-time tradition of the town, having been among the first (it was built in the 1950's). This is for the family or young couple. It's for grandma and grandpa. It's for everyone.
