January 5, 2016 by Rick Morris

You come to Gatlinburg TN to get away from it all.  Well, to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and let loose on some good ole-fashioned fun!

And, this town has it all.  From taking a trip up the ever present Space Needle to playing Hillbilly Golf, you can do it here.  Gatlinburg is filled with interesting attractions and things to do. While on the subject, here are 5 of Gatlinburg's top attractions (admission prices are January 2016)...

Fort Fun Motion Ride 3-D Theater

It's a state of the art moving theater experience! Adventures include Astro Canyon Coaster, Slot Car Boogie, Volcano Mine Ride, Smash Factory, Pepsi Max, and Glacier Run. These are bumpy, dipping, shaking rides that make you feel like you're in the movie. Wild, exciting rides where the screen moves with your seats.  You'll experience 4-foot drops, turns, twists, and forces that will make this simulated ride one of your favorites in Gatlinburg.

Admission: $12 for one movie, $17 for all 6. Or, purchase Fort Fun's "Do It All" pass for $21 and you get access to all 9 of their activities including Laser Tag, Outdoor Mini Golf, Bumper Cars, Gem Mining, Black Light Golf, and Laser Maze.

Gatlinburg Space Needle

It's over 400 feet tall and is situated in the middle of Gatlinburg TN.  It's probably the first thing you'll notice as you enter the town. The Space Needle is an awesome way to see the city and surrounding mountains.  One of two glass elevators will take you to the top where an observation deck (at 342 feet) permits 360 degree views.  At ground floor is Arcadia, a 2-story arcade and a show theater - the Iris. And, there is a Slice Pizza Bakery for the hunger in you.

Admission: $9.50 ($9 when ordered online) for Adults, $6 for Seniors and Military. $5 for Children ages 4-11. Free for children 3 and younger. Discounts of up to $4 off per person for large groups.

Treasure Quest Golf

An 18-hole indoor miniature golf course based upon treasure hunting. Starts out with an Indiana Jones ancient jungle temple theme but some say it's not all-inclusive of that. There is a new black-light section and some pirate stuff, and a bonus treasure hunt that has a Mardi-Gras style bead necklace as a prize. Did we mention it's indoors? Perfect for rainy days.

Admission: $9

Featured on the Travel Channel with Samantha Brown, Erik and Vesna PLakanis' business has safely guided almost 75,000 people during their 18 years of business. Hike Mt. LeConte and other trails, go on backpacking excursions, or go on a 3-hour nature walk.  Without doubt, the coolest outdoor attraction in Gatlinburg!
