There is a steakhouse in Gatlinburg that is like none other. Its facade almost certainly gives creed to its name - the Alamo!
No. Not the real Alamo. That one is in Texas, silly. And where the original is all about Santa Anna and the Texans, this Alamo is about steak. And, awesome steak at that.
The proclamation is that they believe in serving only the best. Each Angus steak has been aged appropriately, then hand-cut and seasoned to perfection. Careful attention is given as it is teased over an oak fire, searing in all the glorious juices.
After some starters such as Flame-Grilled Oysters, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, or Texas Taters, you can select a Prime Rib ($28) that has been slow roasted and served with Horseradish Sauce and Au Jus. Or, go for the New York Strip ($28). Perhaps you should just go big or go home with the El Presidente Porterhouse ($32), a house specialty fit for a king!
Other items include Chopped Steak ($20), Steak and Shrimp ($32), Rio Grande Ribeye ($26 - $31) or filet ($27 - $32).
A selection of Oak Grilled Salmon, Salmon Oscar, or Stuffed Shrimp top the seafood arena.
If pig is your thing, try their Oak Fired Pork Chops ($20), or Soy-Citrus Pork Tenderloin ($20).
Want some yard bird? Go for the Teriyaki Chicken ($19), San Antonio Chicken ($20), or Chicken Parmesan ($20)
Alamo Steakhouse schedules wedding receptions and offers romantic dining for your Gatlinburg honeymoon getaway. You can dine in at the "Love Nest", a private setting tucked away from the main dining area and bar. Or, choose the "Love Birds" package ($49.99), where your steaks are prepared for your grill at the cabin.
